OUR MISSION & VISION
Love INC North Marion County is one of more than a hundred Love INC locations across the United States and Kenya, who partner with over 7,800 Christian churches to serve hundreds of thousands of people in need.
Our local Love INC serves families who reside in the Woodburn area. How? By mobilizing local churches to transform lives and communities In the Name of Christ. Here’s why that works:
Our Board
Rosetta Wangerin, Executive Director
Rosetta retired after many years with the Oregon Department of Human Services. A devoted mother of four and grandmother of nine, she serves as the Executive Director of Love INC. Through her leadership, the organization has experienced tremendous growth as she faithfully fills many roles, including director, fundraiser, administrator, and mentor to staff. A member of the United Methodist Church in Woodburn, Rosetta has a heart for serving families and individuals in need with compassion, hope, and the love of Christ.
Nancy Talbot, Treasurer
Nancy has been a resident of Woodburn for most of her adult life. She retired after a 30-year career with the Oregon Department of Human Services, followed by 10 years serving patients in the hospital setting.
Since 2016, Nancy has served on the Love INC Board and considers it a privilege to support its mission. She enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and serving others. Nancy is a member of North Marion Fellowship.
Kathy Figley, President
Kathy moved to Oregon shortly after graduating from the University of Michigan and has called Woodburn home since 1978. After a lifelong career in the title and escrow industry, she retired in 2024. A dedicated community leader, she served on the Park Board, City Council, and as Woodburn's Mayor for 16 years. Kathy is honored to support Love INC's mission of providing compassionate, practical help to neighbors in need, calling her service on the Board both a privilege and a blessing.
Melissa Tangedal, Director
Melissa has lived in Oregon for over 20 years and holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri and a Juris Doctor from Florida.
She works as a contract manager for a major healthcare system and has experience in healthcare, labor law, and workforce development. Melissa has volunteered with Love INC since 2017 and is passionate about serving others and living out her faith.
Ulises Rodriguez, Vice President
Ulises was born in El Salvador and immigrated to the United States at the age of three. He grew up in Eugene, where he attended middle and high school before earning a bachelor's degree in Language Arts and Sociology from the University of Oregon. He later received his master's degree in Education from Pacific University, preparing him to teach grades K–12. When he's not teaching, Ulises enjoys spending time with his wife, Erin, and their three wonderful children. Their family lives in Woodburn and is actively involved at Mid-Valley Community Fellowship.
Sherry Stoneback, Director
Sherry has volunteered with Love INC for several years, serving in many roles, including managing the website, recruiting and training volunteers, developing policies, and supporting staff.
With a background in community nursing consulting and case management, Sherry enjoys using her skills to serve others through Love INC. She lives in Woodburn with her husband and is grateful for the opportunity to live out her Christian faith.
Christina Barboza, Secretary
Christina attends Woodburn Foursquare Church and believes the Lord has called her to serve marginalized and vulnerable individuals affected by exploitation and victimization. She lives in Woodburn with her four children and is a graduate of Pacific University. Christina works at TriMet, serves on the leadership team of OATH as the Foreign-Born Outreach Specialist and Interpreter Services Coordinator, and is a member of the Oregon Statewide Human Trafficking Task Force. She also chairs the Washington County Public Safety Coordinating Council's Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) Committee. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, baking, and playing with her cats and dog.
